1353797 2013-09-18 11:14:00 Had yet another 'MS Virus' call today, and being somewhat stretched at the time, I launched straight in and gave the pr**k a bit of a serve. :angry

He then lost his rag and had a go back at me, but I hung up after the first few words.

Business must be getting bad for them........:D

Cheers

(I recommend that you try it, I found it immensely satisfying.)

1353798 2013-09-18 11:29:00 I really want to set up a virtual machine that has a program that just prints profanities set as the shell (instead of Explorer) and let them get access :p pcuser42 (130)
1353799 2013-09-18 21:11:00 Yes, it seems like they've launched their spring offensive. Had numerous calls from 0333333333 and finally from 000 which I did answer. He was incredulous when told that we didn't have any computers in the house. (I call them PCs so I wasn't lying to him!) If I hadn't been having dinner at the time I would have obligingly marched along to my PC and played for 20 minutes or so trying to follow his instructions. It's amazing how uncooperative and ancient I get when talking to one of "them". coldot (6847)
1353800 2013-09-18 21:28:00 Had one myself yesterday - Was a bit busy at the time, saw the caller ID on the phone 0123456789 and ignored it , and how rude, they never left a message on the answer phone either -How disappointing --------- Ya Think ;) wainuitech (129)
1353801 2013-09-18 21:48:00 Yep I've had a couple recently also. Last one was as I was leaving the house, I get "hello I'm from microsoft..." in a very strong indian accent, I start laughing, say "no you're not" and hang up on him. I find it strange that it's so normal now I don't really even get annoyed with them, I just hang up.

Good on those of you that string them along, I just don't have the patience and I suspect it doesn't really bother them much anyway.

1353802 2013-09-18 22:02:00 We had one the other day. The Boss answered the phone and came to me all worried because I had actually had Windows problems only the day previous. He was standing there with the phone, not bothering to cover the speaker, telling me that perhaps I should talk to them about my issues! The guy must have been getting rather excited listening to us until eventually I just took the phone and hung up on him. :D FoxyMX (5)
1353803 2013-09-19 04:22:00 When they launch into their script, I just ask them "Which computer? I have several - if you know there's a problem on my computer, you obviously know which one" - and that response must be so far off their script that they usually just start reading from the beginning of their script again.

So I just repeat my question, until either they or I get tired of the loop.

It usually ends by me calling them unsavoury names and hanging up... :)

1353804 2013-09-19 05:23:00 Had one lady call me about my computer, asked her if she was ringing up to buy it but she wasn't too keen on that idea. Whenu (9358)
1353805 2013-09-19 07:03:00 I just tell them I don't have a computer. Fastest way to get them off the line.

Being inundated with calls about home insulation and special subsidies at the moment...
