2013-09-16 19:29:00 | Do you have an external IDE drive enclosure? | Jen (38) | |
2013-09-16 21:56:00 | Depends what it's worth to you. There are external USB docks you can get that you just slide the drive into, available in both SATA and PATA versions or this combo unit www.pp.co.nz Any that have emitted the death click are probably beyond anytrhing short of expensive expert data retrieval. | dugimodo (138) | |
2013-09-16 22:33:00 | You should be able to connect your old hard drive to the cable that connects your present hard drive to the mother board. There will be at least one spare hard drive connection on that cable. Todays PCs are set up for plug and play and so you should not have to do anything else but connect it to the cable, then go to My Computer where you should be able to access the old hard drive. Not too difficult.

Its riddles from Mirddles :) ageday is occuring ? ???? some clicked before retirement ?? if the HD are clicking/clunking etc, it will very VERY difficult to recover any data. Have a look here, this guy shows how to do hardware level datarecovery myharddrivedied.com Else just download data recovery software & give that a go. Just plug the old HD in as a 2nd HD on the PC |

2013-09-17 02:30:00 | how does one become an expensive data retrieval expert? Go and learn how to do it, which would also involve access to cleanrooms, the knowledge of things like how to replace a head stack, how to do surface-mount rework on circuit boards.. etc... Specialist (and expensive) tools needed and skills, that's why data recovery costs A LOT.
