1353605 2013-09-15 21:28:00 I found a bloody 200gb HDD on the SIDE OF THE ROAD!!! After poping it into my computer and checking it with linux i found that it still worked! Formated it and plugged it in a raid setup on my pc. I now have 700 gb of storage total!!! Thats saved me a good 150 bucks!! tuxdude143 (17146)
1353606 2013-09-15 22:03:00 Uh, cool I guess. On what planet is a tiny 200GB HDD still $150? :P inphinity (7274)
1353607 2013-09-15 22:06:00 200 gb isnt that tiny. I mean its a 200gb sata hdd for free. In the end thats good enough tuxdude143 (17146)

May pay to test it for bad sectors.

Seems a little odd why someone would leave a Good HDD laying on the side, unless it fell out of a bag or something.

Got a TB drive if you want ;) mind you its got over 1700 failed sectors and counting.

1353611 2013-09-16 02:03:00 Its only gonna be a drive where my downloads and other not as important crap goes. The important stuff stays on my home drive. I just wanna redirect my downloads folder there so I have some space to spare on my main drive tuxdude143 (17146)
1353612 2013-09-16 04:32:00 Anything on it to identify the owner? Maybe they want it back and it fell out of a bag or something. pctek (84)
1353613 2013-09-16 06:20:00 Had a look at what was on it??

I wouldn't pick something like that up...
I can't imagine someone dropping a hard drive on the side of the road and not noticing it.

I can't imagine someone dropping a hard drive on the side of the road and not noticing it.They could have easily put it on the roof of the car while getting the door open. It could have been their back-up drive with important files...

I'm with pctek, did you attempt to find any identifiable material before formatting?
