| 1354287 | 2013-09-26 00:16:00 | From what I've heard, it would seem that Oracle team has a computerised hydraulic system out of a Boeing 747 to get them up and planing quicker on tacking upwind ... and yes, Larry has the money to do it and NZ would probably never be able to get their hands on it, let alone pay for it. We need the system out of a Tornado fighter or A380 ... if you see either one at an airport near you, I'm sure ETNZ would appreciate you giving them one. Personally, I feel that it was not very sportsman like to have a massive advantage like that when I was under the assumption that the boats would be "equal". The jury should never have let Oracle change from a manual system to automatic half way through the race ... but hey, what else do you expect from the Yanks ... win at all costs ... Aussie skipper, well hell, he bowels underarm so what else can you expect ! I say well done to our guys ... you gave it all you had. |

Cant have it both ways That is precisely the point they were 1 race away from winning and they lost 8 in a ROW, if that is not choking and the very definition of losers, I don't know what is. They lost, therefore they are the losers. |

| 1354289 | 2013-09-26 00:32:00 | choking .........They lost, therefore they are the losers. It couldnt possibly be at all to do with US having a much faster boat then. Again, sounding like Dennis Conner at his worst. Poor sportsmanship ON YOUR PART , typical armchair critic . So easy to criticize those actually out there giving it a go giving it your best attempt WITH WHAT YOU HAVE is not chocking. Have some respect, why not say it to their face & then we may see some real chocking happening :-) |

Armchair critic I may be but I don't subscribe to the PC bullshit that it is enough to participate, it isn't, you win you are a winner, you lose you are a loser, simple as that. And since when has the America's Cup ever been about sportsmanship, what a crock of ****, its about money. |

| 1354292 | 2013-09-26 01:27:00 | How did you come to that conclusion?? These boats are all about technology.. Oracle's is just better than ours.. Wind drag on all that glitters perhaps on all that signage. If both teams had the same technology then the competition would negate the advantage Oracle had. Wonder when sprinters' will use hydraulics to get a boost out of their starting blocks. Lurking. |

We were sponsored by a large airline . They could have shipped over a part out of one of their planes.. |

They lost, therefore they are the losers. But you forgot that there were 3 races in there that we were probably going to win, and at least one of them by a long way, that were abandoned, that would have won the cup. A lot of luck went Oracle's way as well. |

If it were an even playing field then yes, BUT they didn't choke, the game was changed half way through. When the yanks discovered the boat wasn't fast enough they changed it, altered the foils, etc. They even said this morning that the biggest speed increase with upwind performance was because of the foils being changed, and the automatic system they altered to suit. In the earlier races NZ had a speed advantage upwind, the yanks changed their boat because they had a bottomless pit of money to enable it. If both boats were identical in every way then it would have been a choke, but they weren't. If I ever ran into them (and could pick them out of a crowd which I can't) I would be more than happy to tell it to their face. Talks cheap when sitting behind a computer screen :) |

| 1354296 | 2013-09-26 03:22:00 | It was in the rules for that change to be made so they made it, this race is not about the boat is about the money. You can't do this on a shoestring so coming into it without the cash to see it through is just as much choking as not winning the races. Yeah the talk is cheap, but I can't prove it so meh...... |
