1372467 2014-04-14 00:31:00 Thanks WT. Will do it tonight.

Dugimodo - I've got 4G RAM. Previously only 3.2 was used on 32 bit (if I remember correctly)

1372468 2014-04-14 08:05:00 OK I'm still short an Ethernet controller and a PCI controller and the unknown device - on the 64 bit page I can't seem to find these drivers, they're still missing although I installed the chipset.
I did install the ATI drivers and the visual display is back to normal.

1372469 2014-04-14 08:21:00 Ethernet is 5th up from the bottom,

Everything thats highlighted in the pictures - recommended to install. The one with Red arrows is the Modem ( if it has one) The Wireless in the yellow will be one of them, try them one at a time till it works.

NOTE: this is for the x64 since you said you are on the 64 Bit page.

If after putting all those in you still have a unknown device, try the Intel Turbo Boost Driver.( not high lighted)

ignore any already installed Eg: graphic

1372470 2014-04-14 18:39:00 Well, after all the highlighted installs one of them became the unknown device. Now for a stupid question : is there anywhere a ISO or whatever with all the drivers and updates that I can slipstream with the Win7 64-bit or will I forever have to go through the same?

Thanks a million WT, you're a star again. I may still bother you for the odd thing that bothers me, but for now it looks good.

1372471 2014-04-14 20:50:00 What I'd suggest, is download and install all the current updates, then make an image of the drive and store it somewhere safe on an external HDD before you start adding programs. That way if you ever need to reinstall it, just drop that image back onto the drive and it will be exactly as it currently is. wainuitech (129)
1372472 2014-04-14 23:44:00 OK. Thanks Wainui. Searching again for the external drive. Any new free imaging programs these day - in addition with the ones mentioned on this forum ever so often?

1372475 2014-04-15 06:33:00 I still have that lovely vid you did for Active@ actually I think I have two videos :) You might have to repost that sometime gary, dont think I have it any more. Active@ is still good, But I dont think the Free version they have allows you to make a bootable CD, which is what you need if the whole OS has to be put back on a blank or "need to restore the whole thing" Drive wainuitech (129)
1372476 2014-04-15 06:36:00 Backupper - thanks for that. Don't need Youtube, it's easy.
