1372019 2014-04-07 21:36:00 they sell them because a certain percentage of the population buys on price

Then complains bitterly when they don't work as they thought they should. You get what you pay for..

1372020 2014-04-10 06:52:00 Hi Members, thanks for the replies. Don't know why the Tech couldn't explain it like that. Now I understand.
B.M., I spent about the same amount. I think you phone is a lot better than mine but I am happy. I bought the cheap phone just to try out a smart phone. It did exactly as I expected.
Paulw the Moto g also sounds good and if I decide to upgrade I will consider something in that price range.

1372021 2014-04-10 07:20:00 Just as a PS, digging into this phone I come across this.
Internal storage available 32.32 Mb
SD card 128k
SD card 1.84Gb
Available 1.74Gb
Guess that might mean something to some one but not me.

1372022 2014-04-10 08:50:00 Yeah so the internal storage is pretty much completely full, and you've got literally nothing at all on the SD Card.

If you go into your phone Settings --> Apps --> Select an application you've installed and go to "Move to SD Card".

It may free up a bit more space for ya :)

In lay mans terms it means you have bugger all storage internally and not a huge amount on an SD card.

32 MB = 21 photos at 1.5MB per photo. The average size of a photo of a Sony Digital camera is 1.5MB.

FTR - Mb is Megabits ( transfer speed)
MB is MegaBytes ( storage size - where there is 8 bits to the Byte)

1372024 2014-04-10 15:59:00 Thanks Chill. I only have a couple of apps on the phone and it seems that they cant be transferred to the SD card. I assume some can and some cannot, correct?

Webvedguy, thanks, I understand 'bugger all' my sort of tech speak.

And thanks also for the clarification of Mb and MB

1372025 2014-04-10 20:07:00 For what it's worth tut a $15 16GB SD card from Trade Me may solve any storage problems.

Then if you decide to upgrade, you have a useful size card should you need it.

1372026 2014-04-10 21:50:00 Correct, some can. Some cannot.

B.M. is right, a 16GB SD card from TradeMe is heaps of room for photos / videos. May pay to get a Micro SD card that comes with an adapter to be used as a normal SD card, coz any future phone upgrades will likely take a Micro SD card.

Personally , I wouldnt buy SD cards etc from trademe, far too many dodgy counterfeit goods . It may not be the brand its claimed to be.
Buy it from Dicky Smith or the local Noel Lemmings instead. It will cost more however
