Yes, my cheapie Loranz UHF terrestrial can record programs, as can another UHF cheapie I bought from Harvey Norman, in fact only our two Freeview-enabled TVs can't record. If the decoder has a USB socket on the front or back, they can usually record, but you should always check the specs before buying.

1353455 2013-10-27 01:39:00 Hi sorry to bump up this topic again

I'm looking at getting a receiver, I have the dish installed...as above we don't have UHF. Is there any better options than freeview? Igloo - would that work??

Is this a good deal?

1353456 2013-10-27 01:41:00 Sorry for all the q's. but I assume that the above Harvey Norman receiver can record? Do you just put in any usb or do you need to buy some recording usb?? Thanks :) pct (16854)
1353457 2013-10-27 04:35:00 Any USB should work.
The bigger the better.
Good price for that unit too.

1353458 2013-10-27 05:38:00 Cheers! would this model have an LNB loop terminal?? :) pct (16854)
1353459 2013-10-27 05:52:00 That box is designed to be used with UHF not sat. Alex B (15479)
1353460 2013-10-27 05:54:00 Oh damn, so that would not work with satellite ? and no LNB loop ? pct (16854)
1353461 2013-10-27 06:25:00 Nope. Not even a little bit. It would be cheaper, and just as ineffective, to use a length of garden hose and a funnel. :( R2x1 (4628)
