2014-04-11 11:30:00 | So, which is the best ESET version to use on a single computer? I'll probably have to buy two licences as Mrs T is using Billy Junior's PC while he is off overseas and I'd rather not leave it unprotected. The options on their website are a bit confusing at present, but I'm looking at 'ESET Smart Security for Win PCs' (on a 3 year plan) as it seems to tick all the boxes. Any comments for or against? If set to interactive mode, for a while when first installed it can be a pain as you have to allow or Deny what ever applications through (& Tell it to remember). But once set it wont bother you again with that program unless something changes, Eg: Updates the program. If you're not to worried about the above then the Antivirus is fine.

2014-04-12 09:04:00 | Wainuitech is a ESET reseller...he can arrange it for you... I'm happy to point my purchase at a PF1 member, but what is there to arrange? As I understand it, I just download the program and either pay then or within 30 days. To my knowledge I have never purchased downloaded software through a third party before, but if it comes with local support I'm happy to use WT (who might like to PM me to explain the benefits, and if it is all good, set things in motion.) I do intend to run the firewall, I've been through the validation/rejection process in the past and it is not that arduous as I use very few programs that go online for updates or anything else. I've noticed NOD32 doesn't have a bad habit of doing a scan of your PC at the worst possible time, it seems to be a lot more intelligent than that.

There is nothing terrible about paying Chillisoft directly (NZs NOD32 supplier). But it costs the same..... and I would far prefer to have Wainuitech get the small markup on it than a large faceless business. As I am not a reseller myself anymore, I shifted my NOD32 renewals to Wainuitech......he is on to it with sending through the reminders and of course, should you need help....wellhere he is... |

2014-04-13 02:12:00 | I think I still have some 3 month NOD32 trials if anyone is interested. They don't do the 3 month trials anymore, which is a shame, as we would put that on any new machine and remove the trials of Norton, McAfee etc.

2014-04-13 02:29:00 | Resellers have an option that Eset allow, if a person has another current PAID antivirus, Eg: Norton, McAfee etc, and they change over to Nod32, theres an option to purchase a new licence for the price of a renewal. If the person is using Free AV's - doesn't apply. @ BILLY-- if you want to get some licencing off me, then by all means PM with a email address and I'll respond that way. :) When I finish repairing my work PC (by tomorrow -- it decided to break) :crying I'll be able to proceed if you want.
