1371599 2014-03-30 05:38:00 Recently my computer has been showing two distinct symptoms that make me think there is a problem with my PSU, perhaps you guys can shed some light.

1. Takes multiple presses of the power button before the computer will turn on and in some instances requires me to switch my CGFI on and off.
2. When coming out of sleep the power light briefly goes solid then fades before anything is displayed on the screen.

Power supply is a 23 month old Corsair AX850 that runs well under its rated wattage.

1371600 2014-03-30 06:38:00 Does the system run ok once you get it to start? If so I would check out the power start button/switch and also disconnect and reconnect all the leads from the PSU. CliveM (6007)
1371601 2014-03-30 14:12:00 Seems to run normally once its on. I've checked the switch and it is functional, the same problems happen if i try to boot using the mobos power button.

Im going to clean and tidy it up this coming weekend...

1371602 2014-03-30 21:03:00 It seems unlikely that the PSU itself is at fault. Possibly it is just a dirty connection PSU > MB. Worth a try to just break and make each plug to the MB. If you carry out the usual precautions (disconnect the main power and use an antistatic wrist band) you cannot hurt anything doing that.
One of the experts on this forum may well be able to give better advise. While I do put all my own gear together I am just an enthusiast with limited knowledge and anything I say should be read with that in mind :)
