1371515 2014-03-29 02:29:00 Hi guys,

I originally had an ATI Radeon HD4300 512mb graphics card and have just gotten a Sapphire HD5450 1G DD3 PCI-E. However, my case seems to be too big for the Sapphire HD5450. What would be the cheapest solution for this? I googled the Sapphire HD5450 1G DDR3 PCI-E and it appears that it has HDMI, DVI-I and VGA. Mine only has HDMI and DVI-I... Looks like if mine also had a VGA port, it would be able to fit into my case too.

Thanks!

1371516 2014-03-29 03:11:00 Case is too big? Does that matter? My last graphics card was super long, just fit in touching the drive bays, theis one is shorter so has space there.
Can't quite see the problem......case too small, well yes....

1371517 2014-03-29 05:49:00 That is hard to understand, too big in what way? if you mean it doesn't fill the hole the other one left just get a blanking plate, if it's something else we need more details about the problem. dugimodo (138)
1371518 2014-03-29 06:34:00 Are you saying you have a slimline case? You'll need a half-height GPU, and not many these days fit those kinds of cases. Not many performance-oriented ones anyway... Chilling_Silence (9)
1371519 2014-03-29 07:20:00 Sorry, I should've been more detailed. I've taken a couple of screenshots to help me explain a little clearer lol

Take note of this first image. The top one is the graphics card that I'm trying to install and them bottom one is my current card. As you can see, it's notably shorter.

My case doesn't seem to allow it to reach the motherboard due it being too short (As pictured below). Feels like I'd need to break the 'hook' part in order for me to successfully get it down.

Is there some sort of accessory I can purchase to extend or it? I hope this helps explaining why my situation is.

1371520 2014-03-29 18:32:00 It's a half height card.
You don't attach it like that, you put it in the PCI-E slot in the motherboard, then screw it in......

However being half height you can't. I'd get a standard card.

1371521 2014-03-29 20:23:00 Had the ports spacing been the same, you may have been able to swap the mounting plate from old to new, but they are not, get the correct card. feersumendjinn (64)
1371522 2014-03-29 21:36:00 Some half-height cards often come with a full bracket you can swap out Agent_24 (57)
1371523 2014-03-30 03:44:00 I just binned one last week that would have fitted it was a dead version of the card gary67 (56)
