1354168	2013-09-24 00:53:00	As of 1Sept www.eeca.govt.nz "From 1 October 2013, computers must be registered on www.energyrating.gov.au before they are available for sale. Computers must meet the requirements of the Standard AS/NZS 5813.2. They must be tested to the Standard AS/NZS 5813.1." New PC's & monitors must be energy rated , otherwise cant be sold. The whole system is a mess. Servers are exempt, but not small servers , huh ?? Workstations are exempt, but not PC's (I'd say all PC's on a business network are workstations) . These new PC's must be listed on an Aus site If building new PC's "There will be "deemed-to-comply" provisions for computer models where less than 200 units are manufactured per year. The model must be registered on the energy rating website. " So every, one off, single build PC must be registered onsite. Did no one think this through !!!! Perhaps local PC builders need to just flood the registration site with every single PC they build, make the thing so unworkable they drop the whole idea. Another new regulation that will be pretty much ignored, impossible to police, unenforceable ?	1101 (13337)

1354172	2013-09-24 04:18:00	I don't buy computers I buy parts. Perhaps system builders can just sell parts as well. If they happened to be installed in a case and windows is installed for the buyers convenience it wouldn't bother me.	dugimodo (138)
