| 279732 | 2004-10-10 03:08:00 | Have downloaded zip file and installed in clean directory. When you double click to extract files it comes up with message box asking you to click Setup to being process - so far so good. It appears to start extracting files and then comes up with error message 'Setup caused access violation in Setup.exe at 0x00000009' Using W XP Prof. Any ideas on problem? Thanks Yed |

| 279733 | 2004-10-10 05:25:00 | Don't know where you downloaded it from but the version from the official grisoft site isn't a .zip file it's an .exe and double clicking the setup which will be named "avg6773fu_free.exe" if it's the latest version and will be 7.36Mb in size. You can extract the .exe to a folder if you wish but it's probably better to just double click the original downloaded fileto start setup. Check the file size to ensure you have a full download If it still doesn't complete setup uninstall any previous versions, reboot & try again. If still no joy, download again just to make sure the one you have now isn't corrupt. |
