2004-10-10 10:25:00 | lmao, Doesnt matter what cars or changes are made,Bathurst is of limited international interest,The rest of the world knows and cares nothing of Autralian racing. And various races are held on Bathurst,no need to disrupt or ruin the V8 series.

2004-10-10 10:42:00 | Metla, So you have no problem with the A,T,C, Stealing what WAS an international event with REAL international significance? "The Great Race" was a "Global" name given to the event. By the "International Media" when the "Hardie" moved from Phillip Island to Bathurst. G.M.H. almost killed the event when they forced out foriegn makes, because they were getting dicked, for no other reason was the AUS only format introduced. The non V8 event was then burried by G.M.H. media manipulation. D.

2004-10-10 10:50:00 | The holden vs Ford format suits me,and when it takes place on the worlds greatest track....EVEN BETTER. The event is part of the series after all,and an open class event is still held, i watched Brock and murphy sharing a Monaro in the event a few months back(on Sky,not in person)

2004-10-10 11:00:00 | Metla, Was forced into the serise by G.M.H after the split. The G.M.H "Sales Promo" is free to air whilst the real race is burried by G.M.H. and on sky. If this was a ball sport event G.M.H. would never be allowed to pull of this sales promo as anything but an infomercial. In reality the V8 event is nothing but a G.M.H. INFOMERCIAL. D.

2004-10-10 11:05:00 | In reality the V8 series is more popular. And why is this? Because its an Aussie event, an Aussie track, Aussie cars, and an Aussie audience, and good on them for suporting their own. And the international interest is near nil,as proven by the open class race.

2004-10-10 11:18:00 | Metla, Who orchestrated this shift? Why? Aussie Cars? The FOMOCO AUS Falcon is as close as you can get to a real Australian car. Hence the: Headroom, Shoulderoom, Legroom, the Armchair behind the steering wheel, and interestingly, its own 6cyl P.P. (Personally I think the A series are the fuglyiest ever Falcon) How does an Opel with a Chev/Buick slung in the front and a local skin and interior package qualify as an AUS Car? Unless of course you'r G.M.H. telling the "Story". D.
