| 279265 | 2004-10-08 09:44:00 | I have 2 computers both using WinXp and are networked together and I set them both up using the 'network setup wizard'. On the host computer I go to My Computer, My Network Places, and View Workgroup Computers. I see the name fo the client computer and when I double click it I get the following error: "\\Computer2 is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resources. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The Network path was not found." Note:Computer2 is the computer name of the client computer. I have made sure all my firewalls are turned off but I still can't access the client computer. How can I access the other computer? Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou, Michael |

| 279268 | 2004-10-08 09:53:00 | You should also try creating identical user accounts on both computers, even if they are "Guest". Alternatively, you could do as rob suggested and map the drive, using this command: Start --> Run --> net use drive: \\computer\sharename password /USER:username So, if the computer's name was "computer", the sharename was "cdrive", the username was "administrator", the password was "John" and you want to map it to z: drive, the command should look like this: net use z: \\computer\cdrive John /USER:administrator Hope that helps. |

| 279271 | 2004-10-09 02:29:00 | Just change the ips etc whatever youve done BUT do it manually. NOT with the wizard. Just make sure the workgroups are the same, and the 2 PC's have different IP addresses. |

| 279273 | 2004-10-09 05:01:00 | Thanks for all your help. I tried what all of you said but I still get that same error message on my host computer. On the client computer it says something about the workgroup not being available. Does anybody know how I can fix this problem? Thankyou, Michael |
