| 280009 | 2004-10-11 01:11:00 | I was using IE and Outlook express, OK, but was advised to change to Firefox and Thunderbird, for security reasons. This I have done, and all is OK except that I no longer can click on a web page, or e.mail address in Thunderbird, and get to the page, nothing happens, no "link" occurs. I have to "copy & paste" and go to Firefox to access the web page. (e.g. Lockergnome links) I have tried all the avenues I can locate. any advice please? |

| 280010 | 2004-10-11 06:11:00 | Hi Have you made sure Thunderbird is set as your default email client? Go to Tools > Options > General. Make sure there is a tick beside "Use Mozilla Thunderbird as the default mail application" and Click OK. Close down Thunderbird and reopen it. See whether your email links work now. |

| 280011 | 2004-10-11 06:15:00 | Oops forgot one other thing. Do the same for Firefox to make sure it is set as the default Browser. Depending upon what version of Firefox you have, this option might be under Edit > Preferences > General. | Jen C (20) | ||
| 280012 | 2004-10-11 09:48:00 | Hi Carl. I had the same problem and came looking for advice on PF1 about 10 days ago. I tried setting TB and Firefox as defaults as Jen C advised with no luck. I found a lot of other threads in overseas forums where people are having the same problems but some of the fixes being proposed are far too complicated for a simple soul like me. Anyway, I'm not here to tell you how to do it as I don't know. I just wanted to warn you that, if like me, you revert to using Outlook Express as your mail client for the simple convenience of being able to use hyperlinks, you will find that you lost that facility when you set TB and FF as your defaults. You will have to reset OE and IE as your defaults to get it back. |
