| 280478 | 2004-10-12 09:05:00 | Hi, just wondering if its possible with the very normal models. I don't mean using the fancy handsets that is like 1/2 a PDA ... I tried it on a Motorola, what I found out is I can send email out. However I can only check email via Vodafone Live. There is something called Inbox (for text) and "Email Inbox" which obviously as it sound should be for emails. I just can't get vodafone emails, I have tried my pop server of my Internet ISP, I cannot get this either. Anyone had success with receiving emails into the inbox rather than via Vodafone Live?? I have contacted the data team at Vodafone, but they said to me I can try my Internet ISP for their pop address - which does not work. Vodafone as I aware only supplied a smtp server, I substituted a POP instead of the SMTP but it does not work.... Thanks. |

| 280481 | 2004-10-12 21:16:00 | is there a way of actually using the Email Inbox instead like plonking pop.vodafone.co.nz or the like into the settings and it actually works? | nomad (3693) | ||
| 280482 | 2004-10-12 21:41:00 | I use a t68i ($199 cheapie) to send and receive my @vodafone . net . nz e-mail address . This is via the messages menu, and I don't have to connect to any WAP / Vodafone Live site to connect . I've got it set-up via the IMAP4 protocol, which means when I delete messages on my phone, it deletes them off the server . I was told by Vodafone that IMAP4 was better than POP3 . I'm pretty sure I can change it to send and receive any POP3 Mail Box? :-) |

| 280483 | 2004-10-12 21:50:00 | I forgot to mention, Vodafone sent the e-mail setting straight to my phone, which installed automatically (these are different from the Vodafone Live settings). If your phone is GPRS / Wap capable they may be able to set your up too | Marlboro (4607) | ||
