1) What gives firefox the power to change my homepage without me knowing? Shouldn't I be concerned?

2) Why do they suggest that I download the latest release from a browser which I'm updating because of it's download vulnerabilities?

Incase you don't know what I'm talking about; I'm using Firefox 0.9 and when I started it up I was greeted with:

Growly (6)
280449 2004-10-12 05:36:00 Nah! They're just trying to catch up with the past masters of the art Growly.

However, I'd be a bit peeved too if I intended to remain vulnerable so, if you feel enclined, drop them an email, I'm sure you'll get a fair hearing.

BTW, I've been trying to update IE, not that I use it but, it's still lurking afterall. Just will not work for some reason via windows update, I'll have to dig it out of the MS admin downloads (win2k).
