280922 2004-10-13 22:25:00 My friend asked me an interesting question last nite

We were thinking of playing a multiplayer game quake 2 and most of the time my friend uses a network card to play.
He was thinking there are pcs that has bluetooth built into to them.If two pcs had bluetooth are there anyway a multiplayer can be setup using bluetooth?
I know at the moment its not possible and i don't think any games has this kind of auction.
How much data can a bluetooth device receive per second?

280923 2004-10-13 23:30:00 Bluetooth can be configured as a standard network interface.

Speed is 120 kb/s to 723 kb/s (vs 10 Mb/s to 100 Mb/s for cabled 10/100 network)

So its not overly fast.

280924 2004-10-14 00:10:00 Bluetooth have a very small range, something like 10m's? Seeing as the PC would have to be relatively close together for the network to work, wouldnt it just be easier to run a crossover cable between the 2 pc's? Pete O'Neil (250)
