I have been attempting to set up a fresher (my isp, wellington based subsidiary of iServe) email account to use a POP/SMTP proxy server, but I have been having a problem doing so. Everything on my end works fine, and I also have 5 other email accounts running through the same proxy - no problems. Two of these other accounts are fresher accounts. The account I am trying to set up connects fine, but once connected begins to download every single email message ever sent to the address, about 250 messages or so. This account started our being accessed with a webmail interface, and has since progressed to using outlook express with a direct dial up connection. Both worked fine, and had no trace of this problem. This problem is not new - I have attempted to set up this account several times over the last few months, and have had the same result every time. |
