281299 2004-10-15 07:51:00 when i boot into windows xp i have a notepad screen appear titled decktop.ini
the note pad contains the following
[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell 32.dll,-21787

what does this mean?
how do i fix it?
how do i stop it appearing each time i boot

281300 2004-10-15 08:14:00 Have you got show hidden files or folders ticked.? these are usually hidden.
What does desktop.ini do
Desktop.ini is used to tell Windows how to display a folder. For example, enabling Thumbnail view creates a desktop.ini file in that folder which amongst other things, tells Windows to add an extra item to the View menu for that folder. Desktop.ini files are also used when you customize folders, change their icons etc.
