281275 2004-10-23 05:23:00 I was with Woosh till now (still am really & will continue to be until I have proof that I can connect to the net in an alternate fashion) but last month they emailed me that they had finally had enough of my "abusive ways" (to paraphrase) & that from now on would be billing me 5c / mb over 15Gb from now on (last months usage would have cost me ~$1300 so obviously I decided to look elsewhere.)

On comes Orcon with Unlimited DSL!!! yay. As of this Thursday I was adv that my conection would be live within ~1-2 weeks (Im in Mt Wellignton)

I am of the opinion that Telecom are dragging their heels on this one, but tough cookies. I refuse to use their service. So Im thinking 4th Nov @ the latest...

281277 2004-10-23 09:17:00 I'd love to have wired country but cant get line of site. ADSL is my only option for half decent internet and to get my monthly fix of >20GB of downloads.

Baldy - of course you're right. Telescum have proved time after time that they don't give a flying fox about their customers. Bunch of muppets they are.

281278 2004-10-24 05:21:00 In July we emailed you to bring to your attention the data usage on
your Woosh account. During that month you used 36833 MB.

In the month of September you used 42853 MB

Your Woosh Everyday Plan is designed for everyday residential users or
people running home or small offices.

It’s not designed for consistent heavy users, particularly those who are
using peer-to-peer applications. Customers with high usage on their account
can have a substantial impact on other users on our network.

This email is to advise you that we will start charging you 5 cents per MB of
usage over 15GB. This charging is effective immediately.

For example you used 42853 MB last month. Therefore if we had been
charging you during this period you would have received a charge of
$1374.65

If you wish to monitor your ongoing usage you can check it via :

some link

There are three options available to you which we are happy to discuss :

1) Accept the excess usage charges for your account. As noted this is the
default option and is effective immediately.

2) Stay on your Woosh Everyday plan and reduce your usage to below 15GB
per month.

3) Sign up for one of our business plans that allow up to 20GB usage per
month and a higher connection speed. Information pertaining to these plans
can be found via the following link :

Silly not unlimited plans link

Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any concerns or wish to
discuss your plan.

I havent bothered calling in, or complaining that they have advertised an unlimited plan (reasonable use my patoot INAL but come on, if its advertised as unlimited, can they even legally have a clause which limits the monthly use? & in such an ambiguous way.)

anyway, Im hoping 4th Nov will be my day (considering the stoopid delay in getting DSL set up.)

Cant wait

(PS. sorry about hijaking the thread a bit.)
