| 281201 | 2004-10-14 23:40:00 | Hi Folks. I have a floppy containing 1500 records in an old .wks spreadsheet format. I want to transalate this to an equally old (4.5) .wdb database format so that I can sort it, print a variety of filtered labels etc. A straight copy and paste works for 14 of the 15 fields. However, the final in the spreadsheet is, for example 10/04, 14/04 and 07/04. Translated to the database these examples appear as 38087, 38091 and 38084 respectively regardless of which format I choose for the field. Any suggestions appreciated. | Scouse (83) | ||

| 281203 | 2004-10-15 02:27:00 | 38087, 38091 and 38084 are the MS conversion of the dates that the original cells held. Its also possible that these have transferred as text, therefore will not take on the cell attributes of a date. Try multiplying them by 1 in another cell. If that works copy them back. Works is not something I am familiar with, due to the many limitations of the package, so I cannot be specific. |

| 281204 | 2004-10-15 02:33:00 | That looks like a surprisingly successful transfer. :D Before you get too carried away about the 15th field looking "wrong" (as in "different") try making a simple report and see what prints out. If it's just dates stored in a different format, and they've been converted properly you might have complete success. :D |
