| 281981 | 2004-10-17 10:58:00 | Hi, Anyone shipped any electronics goods (for personal use) from the US to New Zealand? If yes can you give me advice on import fees, duty, Customs or taxes that you may be charged when doing this? Thanks |

| 281983 | 2004-10-17 18:03:00 | I import goods for both business and personal use, and sometimes I import multiples of items, other times single units. I have never met up with "import duties" as such, just GST The end use does not seem to matter. Rightly or wrongly, in my experience it is the price that seems to trigger GST. Even repairs returning from overseas get levied GST on the repair cost. I think the break-point on an individual shipment is around $NZ700 but I'd take informed advice on that. However, once the value is exceeded you pay GST on the whole figure, not just the excess. If in doubt, just phone and ask. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
