| 282504 | 2004-10-18 23:40:00 | I have a packard bell system with a sigme tel onboard sound card. It was working fine until my wonderful dog chewed the cord on the speakers. It was the power cord which connected to the system. It worked alright until I tried a sound card with game port. Since then It only produces a very low volume. I have reinstalled xp since and it makes no difference. I have not tried it with powered speakers as I dont have anymore only a normal speaker which works fine on the laptop but only gives a tiny amount of sound on the desktop. Any help would be great, cheers Gem1n1 |

Therefore what you are getting (low volume) is exactly right what is expected when connecting a "real" speaker to a line output level signal, which is designed to feed an amplifier (amplified speaker) |
