2004-10-18 05:02:00 | I've been looking for a MIDI Driver for my laptop. I dont know exactly what my audio setup is as I dont use sound, but I cannot access a game unless I have MIDI driver for my sound card... When I go into Device Manager (I am using winxp home) it shows Legacy Audio Driver.....Audio Codecs....ALi Audio Acceleator.....thats all there is to do with audio... Can someone help me find this driver :) Cheers

2004-10-18 05:13:00 | Did u try going to Windowsupdate to see if there were drivers there?? I would have thought if u have the right drivers for the soundcard, the midi drivers would be part of that?

2004-10-18 05:37:00 | I would use something like that Belarc Adviser, or a program that can NAME what the soundcard is in your system. So, you can get the RIGHT driver. What game wants the midi driver?

2004-10-18 05:38:00 | do you know what the audio chip/ hardware is e.g. AC97 etc ? If you uninstalled the sound controller , could you reinstall the driver from the notebooks recovery cd ? Seems a shame you have sound problems preventing you playing a game , and yet no need of sound ...

2004-10-18 06:17:00 | we have a version of that game here "Super Solvers Gizmos & Gadgets!" - ours is for win 3.1 / 95 - it installed fine on our win 98se machine , but no way could I get it to run on XP , no matter what emulation I tried - I trust your version is more up to date CS , shame as it's a nice game ... | KatiMike (242) | |
2004-10-18 06:24:00 | I just got the case and found its exactly the same game..Super Solvers Gizmos and Gadgets.. so ur saying it cannot work? I got it installed perfect...when I click to open program it says the midi driver for your sound card could not be found. Make sure correct sound card drivers are installed b4 restarting gizmos and gadgets. Consult your sound card documentation for additional information... thats where i'm stuck.. I installed that driver too and no change... I think i mite Email the Learning Company (makers of the game)
