2004-10-18 08:37:00 | I have Windows XP,Pentium 4,large hdd and memory (1GB) - little of both used on new computer. I have downloaded a program, and registered it, and it has apparently installed correctly. I have used it successfully on an earlier computer. However on my new one I can not run the program - I get a message reading..... Run Time Error '-2147024882(800700e) Out of Memory..... I have checked System Resources etc and done all I know (which is little) but can not open the program. Have I got some settings wrong for cookies - whatever - I have no clue as to how to fix. The download site openly suggests an email address for support and I have tried this but my emails come back through the Postmaster with the message ''''Return address was refused.... Now the return address is mine - sounds like cookies maybe. So why is the Run Time Error and why the non acceptance of an email to an open site. Appreciate help. Thanks.

2004-10-18 08:50:00 | What is the program in question? I remember one of the Freespace tools "VP View" gave me an out of memory error once. re-installing it seemed to help, though I think there was some other subtle thing that i had needed to fix. (sorry, but I have no idea what it was)

2004-10-18 09:53:00 | you could try here (www.kellys-korner-xp.com) for that error message but I also have a question You said you have used this program on another earlier pc has there been an OS change ie was running on 98 now trying to run on xp, if so right click on the program shortcut choose.... properties.... select....... compatiblity tab....... put a tick in "run this program compatiblty mode for" from the drop down box choose your previous OS. click on apply then ok. Try running the program maybe that will trick it into running.

2004-10-18 10:22:00 | Thanks. The program is from www.4dev.com and is named Talk 2Desktop. I have tried it on another machine and it opens okay, although has a couple of bugs that I did not have before. But if it goes on others - why not mine. It is a free download which is "cleared and full" after registration. And why can I not get an email message through - I am puzzled. Now that I have named the program there may be huge business generated for them!!!- will this help them to receive my emails???

2004-10-18 18:00:00 | Hi just checked that out no Faq. one reason for the non reply to your email could be the volume of support requests they are recieving another could be the time difference if you sent your email on monday and the owner of the software are in the USA well its still thier weekend. maybe some waiting time is requiried < I have waited for a week in the past for a support request reply.
