282880 2004-10-20 03:42:00 Does anyone have a CD/DVD printer?
I see they are becoming more common & thought I might get one
Any to steer clear of?
or better still any recommendations?
Thanks

282881 2004-10-20 03:50:00 I know someone who uses one. He uses it a lot. The Epson R210. There is also the R310, which has memory card slots, and a bluetooth adaptor. But the mag I have says the R310 prints pretty dark. Cant say I know of any other brands at the mo, that print onto CD. Altho, you have to get the right CD to print to. It may or may not be too good, on any CD. Spacemannz (808)
282882 2004-10-20 04:02:00 I have the Epson Stylus Photo R210 printer, and have printed over 200 CD's on it, they come out FANTASTIC. You need to use the CD/DVD's that have the printable surface.
I use the Princo DVD Media, and the Ritek CDR media.

282883 2004-10-20 04:10:00 I have been using the R310 and agree printing to CD is so simple using software supplied. I have gotten a little fancy and have a Plugin/Action in Photoshop to make even fancier labels (when I feel the need)

I didnt even know there was an R210 until after I bought mine which is what I would have settled on as the extra card reader slots never get used.

It uses 6 ink cartridges so beware replacement can get costly. They are about $25 each.

282884 2004-10-20 19:48:00 Canon have just released a new printer, the Pixma iP4000. It replaces the i865 which is an awesome printer - Got the best write up in the consumer mag a little while back.
It can print on CD/DVD's, has 2 paper trays and can do automatic duplexing (double sided printing).
For $349 it's a steal!
