| 282991 | 2004-10-21 03:50:00 | Prescott If you have a CD burner & Nero, you can use HDBackup. Unless your OS partition is smallish, it will take a fair few CD's. I have used this for years with no problems. Theother1 & zqwerty I was a recording engineer for Lansdowne Studios in London 1962-66. A lot of our recording was Jazz and, as an private studio - in those days there was basicly EMI, Decca, Pye, CTS & Olympic - we were kept busy. Americans liked the UK sound, and one artist I recorded was Gene Pitney. Our own Artists were Acker Bilk, Roger Whittaker and some lesser known ones. All orchestras were hired on a session basis, and why Jimmy Paige stood out for me, was between takes, he was always experimenting. Also, as an engineer, I did very little to enhance his sound - whether electric or accoustic it was always right. We had a good time, except when the local school heard that Dave Clark was there. We were mobbed. Still remember running flat out to get away from them. Great fun Bye |

| 282992 | 2004-10-21 04:21:00 | yes i do have a cd burner and nero, i will have to find the dik (just did a format you see) and try it out, is it 700mb of windows files for 1 cd or does it compress it??, how can i load it up after i have done a format?? this sure is getting OT LOL :D thanks for the help so far |

| 282993 | 2004-10-21 04:34:00 | It does not compress - it will back up the whole partition - even with only say 1 mb used, if the partition is 10 mb, that is what it will back up. Ghost and Drive Image do similar, but do compress. Best to partition your HD & BU to this, or a seperate one. Restoring is very easy. In my case I boot via a floppy and do it from there. Bye |

| 282995 | 2004-10-21 06:27:00 | Drive Image 4.0 came on a CD included with a MB I bought - along with Partition Image 6.0. Believe it is similar to Ghost. I use W98se so not sure if it works with XP. Bye |
