| 282979 | 2004-10-20 13:11:00 | OK Guys, it's been fun - but let's remember the poster. . Poor Prescott (Or was it Prescott? By now you've got me so into my 70s R&R memories I can't remember) is probably fed up about post hi-jacks - as he would be perfactly entitled to. Sorry for the hi-jack..whoever you are. (In another existence, I seem to remember complaining about that very thing very recently. It didn't go down well in some quarters. Obviously I have to cover my backside accordingly) Anyone wants to talk R & R - I was there - for the proper original stuff, that is. Also met & interviewed assorted icons who came to New Zealand when they weren't necessarily top of the pops at the time4. |

Anyhow Prescott,In my experience the free versions are slow, clunky and lacking vital features.I would not recomend any that i have used, infact i cannot even remember the names of the apps i tried because i dismissed them faster then a 3 way battle between a Pentuim M,a Celeron and a rusty spoon. |

| 282982 | 2004-10-20 20:28:00 | Just to make this clear, all the professionals I have known always use "Ghost" for the aforementioned task and for which you have to pay, but as has already been said it is not too expensive and after all for your precious info why would you take any chances, enough said. I believe that this is common knowledge in computer circles and did not need any further discussion from my point of view, hence the tangential topic slide. | zqwerty (97) | ||

| 282985 | 2004-10-20 22:19:00 | One of my claims to fame, I recorded Jimmy Paige many times. He was a session giutarist in the 60's, when I was a recording engineer in London. He strummed along on many of the hits in that era - all pop - likes of Marriane Faithful, Sandie Shaw etc. The owner of the Studio turned down The Rolling Stones, but we did all of Dave Clark Five hits. Interesting days, and nights. Bye |
