I think these are a P2 166Mhz

Currently running Windows 98.
Also has Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
Comes with external CDROM drive and external 3.5 diskette drive.
Has internal 56kb dynalink modem.
Battery works fine, usually lasts up to 3 hours depending on usage.
Also included is another complete working, similar machine (560X) with 64kb ram,

Questions
What condition is the laptop in and how is the screen Any dead pixels or patchy areas. Does it have any broken bits or faults? And what is the processer? Thanks. posted by: asdex (51 ) 6:26 pm, Fri 22 Oct

Excellent condition, screen is perfect. Nothing is broken, no faults. Processor is a Pentium but not sure what speed. Runs Internet fast enough for me. Only selling because I need an Infrared capability between my phone and the laptop.

282927 2004-10-23 09:09:00 There's 2 companies in East Tamaki that rebuild batteries. I use them to do batteries for cordless drills & my video camera. They are better & cheaper than buying genuine. Have a look in the yellow pages phil.b (4456)
282928 2004-10-27 23:25:00 Thanks, I'll have a look at that. Just out of interest I have opened the batteries cases of my three Compaq LTE's and it looks like I can easily replace the 10 AA batteries if I can source some AA's with solder tabs. Their about $6 or $7 at Dick Smith I think

282929 2004-10-27 23:44:00 Jaycar have a very good range of solder tab AA's.

Probably you can increase the capacity (mAh) rating over the originals, so they would last longer between charges.

2300 mAh solder tab are available for $7.75 each, or $6.75 in volumes of 10+ from Jaycar

282930 2004-10-28 05:13:00 Thanks for that info. I have looked on their site and the prices look very good. I will order ten batteries from them and see how it goes. Thanks once again

282931 2004-11-21 23:28:00 Hi, just updating. I bought an excellent Toshiba Portege P3 600mz 128mB with three good batteries (I've tested them all) for $540. Bit more than I was going to pay but the two extra batteries made the difference. Great laptop and does all what I need.
Thanks
