283518 2004-10-22 03:16:00 I think the car has a carbreuttor issue? Spelling? When the car does not get gas at the start when its cold ie.. in winter. Now its not bad .. such a small issue I have not bothered to resolve it.

Ok, that aside now it gets this high pitched "jerk" sound. It happens at the start, we live on a slight slope of a hill so when it flows down by itself then I put on the gas .. this sound comes and the car does not go. Similarly when I been driving for about 5mins then stop at a give way sign and then put the gas on .. there is no gas and the jerk sound ...
Other times it may happen is if the car's been parked for an hour or so and it goes jerk immediately when I start the engine while the gears is still in "park". When the jerk happens and I wait like 2 sec or so .. it goes away and the gas works again so there is power and acceleration.

It tends to happen once only at the v start of the engine startup.

Someone said it maybe the air conditioner but I doubt it. Its a Mazda 323 1.3L auto transmission car, no fuel injected. Thanks in advanced to the person who is familar with the garage!

283520 2004-10-22 04:19:00 Nomad, you have been there and got some fairly accurate advice from memory (electronic carb)

Look Here (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz)

The old thread takes a while to open, so be patient.

What did you do after all the last lot of advice?

283521 2004-10-22 04:43:00 Is this like, a Labour weekend windup or something or is it for real? 45South (4769)

283523 2004-10-22 05:20:00 If it sounds like a high pitched jerk, maybe that's what it actually is. Check for a loose nut on the steering wheel. ;) R2x1 (4628)
283524 2004-10-22 05:26:00 Hmm, that doesn't sound very polite, but when a mechanic suggested that to me re my car, it amused me highly - Maybe it is not suitable for universal applicability. R2x1 (4628)
283525 2004-10-22 06:33:00 It is really quite simple. This car is presenting all the symptoms of hay fever.
The previous posting was about September 22, 2003, just over a year ago, towards the end of the pine pollen time.

This year because of the weather, the pollen season is extended by at least a month, so it is now presenting in October.

In fact we have already merged with the spring blossom pollens, then it will be broom. gorse and grass.
So I predict, but not using any of Margs' astrological programs that this car will continue coughing and sneezing right through the summer.

283527 2004-10-22 06:53:00 Thanks for that. I am aware of the post I made before. Its not my car. The owner is a female .. so yeah .. Its their 2nd car. They and I basically just adapted to the car, being a quite a minor hassle at most. They have done nothing to the car since apart from new tyres when the warrant fitness called for that. Apart from that nothing was done ..

This loud jerk sound came like a few weeks ago .. and again they just accepted it but I am curious what it is. Its something I hear in the streets by some people too. I think in most cases they would not fix it due to the cost of the actual car, that putting it aside and buy another is perhaps a better deal. If the issues are separated this is a bit more annoying than the electronic carb issue. :) Well its better than walking ..
