I just added a 4 point USB hub to my pc (windows 98SE/ 64mb RAM/ P400/ about 5 years old) and it seemed to work ok with all four points being used. But when I opened one too many programmes and everything froze up on me (which is a reasonably common occurrence). I then pushed the reset button, as I normally do, and when it started up again it gave an extended system beep and shut itself down after lighting up the mouse/keyboard for just a split second. The monitor does not turn on so I cannot see any messages that may appear and I have tried starting up with all USB's removed...nothing seems to work.
Any suggestions??? |
