| 283196 | 2004-10-21 04:32:00 | Hi , I am currently using the 256k flatrate with Paradise , seems Paradise is charging higher than any others for the same "quality of service" , so therefore I sent a email to their customer service in regarding whether they will have new pricing plan launched soon , but unluckly , they are not interested in my question , already more than a week now , no replies at all , so I decided I will change to another ISP at new billing period . Can anyone suggest me a good ISP please?Cheers! | scottiedave (4861) | ||

| 283200 | 2004-10-21 06:50:00 | You realise that theres a $150 charge if you change Bitstream ISP's? | Pete O'Neil (250) | ||

| 283203 | 2004-10-21 07:22:00 | Like metla and many others surely, I would recommend Orcon. They have provided a great service to not only their clients/customers, but also free email and webspace, etc. to the community as a whole However, saying that, I have been much disappointed with their service. Their email server is slow, sometimes unable to establish connection. Their response is rather slow, as lagbort has experienced. All in all, I believe they are at a stage now that unless they increase their capital and staff, etc. they won't be favoured. This is a shame really, as they have been really successful thus far. Lets hope the team can source additional capital somehow. A good ISP will need to be able to provide service when requried. [I know I will probably be shot by many for saying this.. but] I would recommend Xtra right this moment. Yes, they are related with Telecom in a way, but I don't care as long as I'm getting good service. From my experiences they have a great support team, available to help 24/7 (really helpful when my connection goes down past midnight when I'm rushing homework). They have also credited my account with monetary value, not only to fix up mistakes, but also to compensate for my 'psychological damage' as some may say :p Because of this [note, I have no personal relation with them in anyway] I am still with them -I didn't even ask for it, they offered it to me! :D After hours support always gets my money... |

| 283204 | 2004-10-21 08:05:00 | I'll be picky and say that you shouldn't be doing projects last minute past midnight, but aside from that - Orcon offer a better deal than Xtra's "Flat Rate" Jetstream plan for $20 less; I don't see anything wrong with that. Right now I'm quite pissed off at Xtra as a brand spanking new customer. Having had Jetstream enabled yesterday, but not being able to connect, it eventuated today that Xtra had set our account password different to the one they sent us. I wasn't very impressed. |
