283251 2004-10-21 03:32:00 I am trying to access Hotmail from Outlook Express v 6. No luck. I am using Xtra, but when I switch accounts to Kwik Net there is no problem.

Also, when I access the Internet via Xtra and try and logon to Hotmail it comes up with the now firmilier site of "Page not found". But yet again, if I disconnect and reconnect with Kwik Net voila! My Hotmail account!

Any clues? Security settings, enable everything, etc.

Regards, ;-)

ummm sorry un_auth0rised but that is BS, I just access both my hotmail account 30 secs/ 5 min’s ago & Hotmail loads fine in OE 6.0 :)

PS: I am on Xtra 256K 3 GB Plan & No problems.

Sorry, but it is NOT BS. ;-)

Two of my Hotmail accounts recently expired because I hadn't accessed them for a while and upon resubscribing I now cant access them from in Outlook Express unless I go on a paid subscription. My other account is still accessible from OE though.

The reason that Brain Cell can access his account from one ISP and not the other could be related to this issue.

But I can access via Kwik Net!?!?!?! Just not Xtra (and they sleep with MSN don't they, XtraMSN????)

I think I'm correct in saying that a new account with Hotmail does need some sort of payment (and they'll get that out of me....... yeah right!!) but an existing one you should not have to pay.
I can be corrected here, as we're are all grown ups, a??? :D

283258 2004-11-10 19:51:00 You're probably right - I haven't signed up for a new hotmail account for ages. somebody (208)
283259 2004-11-10 20:13:00 According to this page: . imagine-msn . com/hotmail/en-us/," target="_blank">www . imagine-msn . com hotmail is still free (although you can pay for hotmail plus) . In fact it seems they're getting a little more generous (finally), giving new sign-ups 250mb space, compared to the measly 2mb I have on my snotmail account .

Wonder if they'll be generous enough to extend said changes to current users?

283260 2004-11-10 21:30:00 I am using OE6 with Xtra Explorer (256k unlimited now)

Previously (two or so weeks ago, I could not get in). However, I have just set up my Hotmail account in OE again now, and only one of my two Hotmail accounts is working. The one not working brings up a error message that says I need to upgrade to Hotmail Plus or something rather. So I'm just gonna make the most of the this time while the service exists... They must of haven't stopped everybody yet.
