| 283099 | 2004-10-20 21:17:00 | I have a 4 year old PC running Win ME (Pentium 900GHz processor, 192MB RAM) which has recently started running slower than a wet week (it's very slow to start up and opening programmes such as Word, Excel etc takes approx 60 seconds whereas before it was instant). I have a firewall installed and regularly perform virus and spyware checks so I'm fairly confident it doesn't have a virus. Last night I reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled the o/s and windows ... with the same result, it's still as slow as before. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this problem? |
