2004-10-23 05:22:00 | i have recently downloaded a program and all that came with it is a cue file and a bin file, how do i run this? have no idea, any help would be appreciated. | lisamarieo1 (301) | |

2004-10-23 06:31:00 | Either Nero or Fireburner will burn it to disk. With both you just go to file on the top toolbar then "import track from cuesheet" then point it at the cue file and burn away. Another great tool is Alcohol 120% which can mount the bin file in a virtual CD it creates and install it from there then if you leave it mounted in the virtual CD drive you do not need any sort of disc to run it.

2004-10-23 07:18:00 | Start nero,close the new compliation window,click recorder,Burn image,Navigate to where your bin and cue files are,....select which ever is the smaller of the 2. | metla (154) | |
2004-10-23 08:13:00 | ok so when i do that it just has the cue file there do i just copy one? not the bin file? then how does it run? does this create a exe file there somewhere? thansk | lisamarieo1 (301) | |
2004-10-23 08:20:00 | Click on the cue file and it will burn the bin file to cd. The cue file is just a tiny little bit of data saying what size chunks the data contained within the bin file is. After burning is completed run the newly created cd,and bobs your aunty.

2004-10-23 16:47:00 | You failed to burn the files as an "Image", you simply burned them as a Data Disc onto the CD. The Cue and Bin files are information about a CD right, basically they're a "snapshot" of the Disc if you will. The .bin is the actual CD-Image, and the .cue is basically subchannel information (If I Remember Correctly....) about how to re-burn it. Now you've got two ways of burning it: 1. You can burn the two files (.bin and .cue) as files, so you'll end up with what you've got - Two files on a CD that's still of precious little use to you. 2. You can burn them as an "Image" onto the CD. There will be no dragging/dropping of files from the right side to the left side of Nero - It'll simply ask you for the Image Name and burn it. It will then look like a normal CD, which is what you want. Re-read the instructions provided and have another crack at it :-) Cheers Chill.

I think it woulda been a lot easier using John Grieve's suggestion of Alcohol 120% |
