Especially for those who belive the " myth " that the internet runs on Crashdoze.

If you have the head for it the avilable report is a good read, as it explains why M/S has to be rebuilt from scratch.

www.theregister.co.uk

It just dosent say this. It is not a rant like

www.euronet.nl (updated one)

But is does back up many of the rant statments.

283759 2004-10-24 02:27:00 Kind of reminds me of the Bush Adminitration in Farenheit 9/11 :D with relation to it not being publicized....

Just like the true history of new zealand will never be... (please don't reply on this (http://www.celticnz.co.nz) subject...)

283760 2004-10-24 02:46:00 Microsoft has been telling a few porkies about this I think.

If you want a great book to read on Linux - then get Just For Fun a book on Linus Torvalds. It's a great read and explains very well the philosophy behind open source. Open source has to be the way to go for security.

And for Technoligical Advancment .

Your idea, and my idea, put together with his idea, with the code freely available for everyone .

This does not stop developers putting toghter coppyright "Packages" in a "Managed Package" they just have to release their code to .

If their clients dont pay them, they stop the support, and cease to supply upgrades . .

The support and the upgrades are the value added marketable, not the code in the package .

Competition for the supply of quality managed package service, when, were, and as, the client wants .

The model Microsoft does not want to even countenance, because their service, and their products, are way below standard .

Was it Stallman who said:
"If I have an apple and you have an apple and we swap apples, we both still have one apple. However, if I have an idea and you have an idea and we swap ideas, we both now have two ideas"

And this is proof.

I dont Know but it has his ring,

~ Like music, progress in software is dependent on the ideas that have gone before. The creative and innovative part is not the ideas themselves, necessarily, but the particular combinations that make up the whole. Patent the component ideas, and no one can write anything new.~ (Richard Stallman)

Computers are like air conditioning- they both stop working when you open windows. (Unknown)
