283648 2004-10-22 08:38:00 Have just joined xtra adsl previously had dial up. As adsl is always connected i have noticed that with my browser closed (Ie6) that when i hover over the connection icon in the tray take a note of the bytes that show and in a couple of minutes they have increased is this normal or is something pinging xtra that shouldn't be.
Thanks Trev.

283649 2004-10-22 08:40:00 That's quite normal, unless it starts getting really high. A few KB's per minute would be about normal. Greg S (201)

283653 2004-10-23 07:39:00 No the XP firewall is not adequate, it only blocks incoming, not outgoing.

Get ZoneAlarm or similar, it will only allow programs you authorise to make outgoing connections.

Cheers
