| 283648 | 2004-10-22 08:38:00 | Have just joined xtra adsl previously had dial up. As adsl is always connected i have noticed that with my browser closed (Ie6) that when i hover over the connection icon in the tray take a note of the bytes that show and in a couple of minutes they have increased is this normal or is something pinging xtra that shouldn't be. | 283652 | 2004-10-23 07:03:00 | Thanks Tweak Is the XP firewall addiquite.Also have ad-aware for spyware nothing obvious showing there, have checked task manager nothing running there.Have looked at network Utilization and every 2 minutes or so rises to about 0.15% for a second adding about 15bytes not a big deal just not sure whats happening. | 283653 | 2004-10-23 07:39:00 | No the XP firewall is not adequate, it only blocks incoming, not outgoing. Get ZoneAlarm or similar, it will only allow programs you authorise to make outgoing connections. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
