283580 2004-10-23 05:30:00 i agree, copyrighting some random people singing in a church is pathetic. Mirddes (10)
283581 2004-10-23 06:40:00 Choir music getting recorded and sold is no different then any other "artist" making an album.Someone pays the costs of recording and packaging, then it goes on the market.

Its highly doubtful someones recorded the local choir and uploaded it to kazzaa......

283582 2004-10-23 08:00:00 metla is right and Greg is wrong Corey .

You guys would be the first to kick up a fuss if you wrote or recorded something then found it bootlegged across the net .

Suppose you performed live for a bunch of friends, or at a school or charity concert and somebody recorded you then passed it off free . Copyrighted works are private property, so respect the owners' rights .

It wasn't some random people singing in a church, it was a rehearsed and arranged performance that somebody took the trouble to record and publish . You are trying to justify theft by implying that some people just wandered into a church that happened to have recording equipment and by chance they all knew the words .

Get real!

Cheers

283583 2004-10-23 10:23:00 They all know the words in church as they have books with words in them ...

also, isn't that why they pass the collection plate around - to pay the royalties for the songs you just sung?

Just stirring :) :D

283584 2005-03-29 12:12:00 Back to the original question - I too have mp3s which have exactly the same playback problems. I have tried different media players without any joy. The problem occurs with various files downloaded via kazaalitek++, most of them of them dated within the last year. Anyone got any ideas??? H00TERS (5488)
283585 2005-03-29 12:21:00 All the replies are about the original question, The files are deliberately spread to discourage your pirating activities.

Whether that’s right or wrong is irrelevant, the file is not fixable, it’s a decoy.
