284075 2004-10-25 03:56:00 I was interested in this thread and wonder if it is possible to add a capture card as a stand alone as well as to retain the video card I have already got as it is a middle of the road priced PCI Raedon 600. There is a free slot on my motherboard. Bill P (1660)

284079 2004-10-28 08:38:00 I had major problems with various capturing issues:

-unable to cpature off Winfast TV2000XP tuner card
-unable to capture off bought USB cpature device (same as yours) unless SATA drivers disabled
-other issues as well

I totally repartitioned, reformatted & installed OS. Everything now works correctly.

Moral of story: if you have installed any:

new hardware
new software

then, you may be better off trying the above.

284080 2004-10-28 08:42:00 One other thing:

check your mobo bios. I updated to the latest one and this allowed proper install of SATA drivers and, probably, the issues with capturing.

284081 2004-10-28 09:22:00 I use WinFast TV 2000 XP Expert from Leadtek - excellent BUT... since going to Service Pack 2 the thing doesn't work???? No new drivers on the Leadtek download site either. Will probably have to uninstall SP2 AGAIN and do without Uncle Bill's new locked down system!! bba12 (1139)
284082 2004-10-28 17:29:00 I have SP2 installed and the card works properly.

Is a clean reinstall an option?

Don't you just Mr Gates' prodigy.
