283668 2004-10-30 10:02:00 Purely for the sake of resolving this issue, I downloaded and installed the program.

Its a crock, really. Almost all the system files are old versions, and to install it with the supplied system files would probably make other programs fall over. This is evident with the swathe of messages during the install.

Selecting "Yes" to keep the newer ones is the only sane action.

I also get the script errors, which I would guess come from non-standard calls by the poorly written program to system library files, that are now different to the ones that were around many years ago when the program was written.

Lisa, the problem is therefore not yours to fix in my opinion.

The program is probably unlikely to run on anything but an old, non-updated computer. Or a newer one that should be updated.

The type of browser is not the issue. The error emanates from the Nestle' software after the browser has downloaded the file.

Uninstall the program, and buy Cadbury's products instead perhaps?

283669 2004-10-30 10:11:00 And a 14 MB download that installs a program that is only 3.6 MB?

Hmmmm .... Stay away from it!
Thats not kosher (but possibly is only the old system files?)

Now removed, but even that showed the possibility it could remove some critical system files if one was not wary.

Nothing that a complete reinstall of Windows would not fix I guess.

283670 2004-10-30 10:12:00 lol thanks for that, i already buy cadburys :) however have you seen the awsome recipes they have on the site? i whent thru the 600 odd recipes and chose about 150 i wanted to keep and to type each one or print each one would be sooo time consuming, would take me forever. which is why i wanted to resolve this :) the weird thing earlier i went in there clicked on a few recipes and it added them in no problem even asked if i wanted to copy over one that was already in there, then i tried it on a couple more and it came up with the error again . grrr cant win what is it? one minute it works the next it doesnt i didnt disconnect or change anything,. thanks for advice given. lisamarieo1 (301)

283672 2004-10-30 10:40:00 It's quite surprising, but a lot of seemingly should-be-professional programs have been made an absolute crap job of. It's especially prominent in programs such as this, motherboard CD's, etc. Some of them are even 16-bit ?:| - and these are progs being made NOW. Heaps don't work on any systems at all, and Visual Basic Runtime errors are common.

Why? Because they are not made by people that make software.

Nestle is not a software company. Neither are any equipment manufacturers, which is why all those little programs that come with drivers are so heinously terrible (you know the ones, which jam up your system tray with little 16bit [looking] apps that crash a lot and at best tell you that you own some piece of hardware).

Stay away from this sort of program. 9/10 times they do damage to your system by replacing important files with ancient versions from Windows 95.

Why don't you just copy and paste the recipes into a word processing document? Highlight the text and press Ctrl + C to copy, open up the word processing document and press Ctrl + V to paste it in. Save your document.
