283712 2004-10-22 23:07:00 I am using Windows Xp Home and i want to disable the changing of the home page i think there is a registry setting but i cant remember it thewhiz (4002)
283713 2004-10-22 23:35:00 An easy way of doing this, is to use a script for disabling and re-enabling the homepage setting. If you go to this page (www.kellys-korner-xp.com) and scroll down to item #63, you will see two scripts available. Right-click the link to download to your desktop and then double click the script to run it.

Sybot Search and Destroy also has a feature to enable locking down the homepage. If you prefer to edit the registry manually, you need to find these two keys and change the homepage dword value to 00000001

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Inte rnet Explorer\Control Panel
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Int ernet Explorer\Control Panel

283714 2004-10-22 23:36:00 There are instructions on how to lock your homepage using the registry in FAQ #18.
Alternatively you can use Spybot or SpywareBlaster to lock your homepage. Instructions and links are in FAQ #16.
The link to the FAQ section is at top right of this page.
