| 1373424 | 2014-04-24 02:27:00 | My 4 yrs old LG Flatron W2043T-PF has decided to call it a day, after working faithfully for 4+ years. When I turn ON my PC, the screen comes ON for once second and goes OFF, the power switch remains red When I press the power switch to turn of the power and then press one more time to turn it ON, the screen lights up for a second and goes off again. I know it's probably not worth sending it for repair. Just wanting to get opinion from monitor experts, whether there's any easy fix? Maybe it's just the power supply unit that needs replacing? Cheers |

| 1373427 | 2014-04-24 03:31:00 | I've got one that does the same (Dell 19"). My research pointed to bad capacitors on the power board for the backlight "starter" circuit. In theory, replacing the faulty cap, (or simply the board if you can get one) would fix it, as your LCD will still be working and the backlight itself should be fine too if it does work for a second but then turn off again. Mine is still in bits in a box, waiting for me to get enthused enough to look at it again, or for the tip, whichever comes first. |

| 1373429 | 2014-04-24 03:42:00 | Very likely to be bad capacitors in the power supply and\or inverter and logic board(s). Can also be other things but capacitors are high on the list. | Agent_24 (57) | ||
