| 1354872 | 2013-10-02 02:13:00 | If you want Team NZ to keep going for the next America's cup then we need to act fast. So lets all email John Key, Steven Joyce and any other National Mp's you can think of and just say - "Write The Cheque" You can get their email addresss from their website. I've done mine. |

I have to disagree with you on this one. It's peanuts when you consider ACC making huge profits , bailing out solid energy. Give them the same as last time. |

| 1354877 | 2013-10-02 04:59:00 | When I was in the pub I heard a couple of plonkas saying that they wouldn't feel safe on an aircraft if they knew the pilot was a woman. What a pair of sexists. I mean, it's not as if she'd have to reverse the bloody thing! | Cicero (40) | ||

Also given it was an investment, what did it return? I believe it was good in terms of payback, but haven't seen the actual numbers. |

Also no one is stopping the super-rich from buying a 100 million dollar sailboat. But this contest is too expensive. The next thing is NZ will be competing with the US for the first man on Mars. |

No idea either :p Probably be reasonably difficult to quantify the return on investment. (Prove whether any extra business was due to that 36 million, or even the whole Team NZ campaign). Still, if the Campbell live poll was accurate (and it possibly wasn't, due to people who were in favour being more likely to vote and watch the story in the first place), a majority of Kiwis want the government to help fund another Team NZ campaign, which makes funding of a future Team NZ cup campaign more defensible than if the majority of people didn't want to fund another campaign. |
