1354645 2013-09-30 20:25:00 Tsunami false alarm triggered sometime before 8am today in Opotiki. Perhaps related to earthquake at 3.45am, but quake was not tsunami threat. This raises the question- What is the ALL CLEAR signal?
In UK during WWII there was an AIR RAID siren and subsequently an ALL CLEAR siren. Different sounds. So what is the tsunami ALL CLEAR signal to reassure people after someone leaned on the wrong button, or after the tsunami has diminished?

1354647 2013-09-30 20:43:00 In Christchurch the alarm would be trashed, being so close to the beach.

1354650 2013-10-04 22:08:00 Ah reminds me of the time the Fire Siren went off while I was at work, closely followed by my pager as the second local station to me was also called out. I was at work in a Torist establishment and as soon as the pager went off heading to my car, toursits were in panic one ask waht should we do, of course I just said nothing. Then I got one panicing about the volcanoe about to blow by this point I was getting bit irritated by trying to get my gear sorted and listening to these people. I ended up telling them it was a Tsunami warning :)

Oh yea 1100 metres above sea level at the time............ROFL
