I'd like to wish you well kenj, but i fear you'll still be conned into it with the promise of better efficiencies, a more manageable bureaucracy, and lower costs. Those are the promises, but never the reality. The almalgamation of the boroughs in Auckland did work, but they didn't have the base of a powerful super city bureaucracy like we have now that seems largely self serving and choosing its own path to follow. To hell with the elected leadership, they're a pain, we'll just do what we want, and spawn more bureaucrats and yes men in the process is their mantra. And pay ourselves $800,000. |

From what I read leading up to the local elections, most every Wellington candidate was pro-amalgamation/absorption of the neighbouring councils and districts, despite most every neighbouring council being dead opposed to it. Every Upper Hutt candidate declared themselves opposed to a Wellington takeover.....they had to otherwise they wouldn't have stood any chance of being elected. It shows how much those Wellington councillors are just power mad |

How dim, he suddenly forgot why women, younger women especially, do this sort of thing with older, unattractive males in power? So now he's upset his wife, maybe he might have to have a divorce sale of things... Thinking with his nether regions... |

Some comparisons have been made between the mare (nightmare?) and President Bill. What a load of c***. Bill at least has the charisma (sorry about the previous reference to mares :p) to survive and be forgiven in a relatively short period of time. And Hilary stuck by him. From what we're told, Bill and Monica were pretty much a one night stand. But in Auckland, we have a slimeball minor politician who thinks he can get away with an extended affair whilst as its Number 1 Citizen carrying out the administration and leadership of our village. It's not good enough Len. Your family first of all, then your constituents, deserve more than this. |

| 1355865 | 2013-10-15 19:57:00 | From a collection of twitters rerported on Whaleoil this morning: "At least no one was hungry, he got chinese and she got two minute noodles. She thought she called him into the office to talk about elections, not erections. Len Brown says he works 24/7 for Auckland but now we know it is actually 23 hours 58 minutes. I love this city. I love my wife. I love my family. I love my girlfriend. Len Brown" ;) |

| 1355867 | 2013-10-15 22:03:00 | Au Contraire: Not always so, but historically the Tories (National) (right wing) mostly have sex scandals whilst the Labour (left wing) group are involved in money scams and dirty dealing. | zqwerty (97) | ||
