2014-04-21 04:32:00 | Dont think it makes a diff if you have SSD or a hdd. It wont make a diff to the size of the file. Unless they're 20m pixels or something. I have no idea, there's lots of brands and models to choose from. And most 1150 mobos have onboard video. So you dont really need something separate | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2014-04-21 05:06:00 | I have been looking around - I think that case is discontinued. :crying So I am looking at alternatives. I want white, and I need 4-6 usb, and at least one HDMI ports. Looks like the Bitfenix is the winner according to reviews, I will just have to add my own flowers and crystals.

2014-04-21 05:17:00 | Most mobos have 10-12+ usb ports now, and the more recent mobos have VGA,DVI, HDMI, and displayport | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |

2014-04-21 08:49:00 | So girly flowery looking case is a requirement ? :p This one might be an option www.pp.co.nz You'd have to add your own decoration to it though. I prefer manly black myself :)

2014-04-21 08:57:00 | nz.pcpartpicker.com There that's the permalink. I am still looking at options - this doesn't have to be a fast decision. If I could shave $500 off the price I would be a happy girl - more money for crystals and flowers :D

2014-04-21 09:49:00 | Looks like the plans coming together. Why the CPU cooler? totally unneeded unless you go for a K series and want to overclock it. Also the 4771 seems to have nothing to recommend it over the slightly cheaper 4770 - although it's a tiny saving. Only other place I could see to shave money off is a smaller SSD or less RAM, but I tend to look at these things from a mostly gaming perspective and don't use any of the software you mentioned. For gaming for example I'd make a few sacrifices to get a better graphics card, smaller SSD, half the RAM, i5 processor - none of which would really effect it's gaming potential but a better grpahics card would. Of course it depends what games you play. Of course my next build I plan to go all out and have an i7, large SSD, 16Gb RAM, and high end graphics, so I won't be following my own advice. It's looking like I'll be waiting another year at least though, my current i7 3770 based machine is not even slightly struggling and it's last years build :)

2014-04-21 13:04:00 | nz.pcpartpicker.com I have decided to simply gut out my old Acer case ( looks like this... ak1.ostkcdn.com) with it's 650w power supply that I replaced in 2012. It measures roughly the same as the BitFenix. I can keep the 8GB RAM already in it, added in 2011 I think, and just add another pair of 4s, making a total of 16. So it looks like I can match the Alienware for $1500. Tell me how I could make this better please?
