Coz you're with Orcon, who do a decent job of their DNS.

Speedy on the other hand is with Telstra, who have a reputation (A well earned reputation too) for doing a terrible job with DNS and their transparent caching proxy. In fact, I've run into issues with it 3x over the last 2 weeks at work.

1355755 2013-10-11 22:33:00 Yeah OpenDNS are caching entries longer than they should be, try something like Google DNS?

Switched Gargoyle to Google DNS, flushed local DNS cache and it works now. :)

1355758 2013-10-11 22:51:00 Unfortunately you're just flushing the cache on your PC, your router is still likely getting it from your ISP who haven't yet updated. Who's your ISP?

ISP = Clear/Vodafail Chill. :groan:

1355759 2013-10-11 22:56:00 Still cant get on -- Great when even the moderators cant get on, guess it will fill with spam. Leave the damn thing alone when its working, typical fiddle an stuff things up -- Sounds like the govt and telecom -- cant leave things alone. Was working Fine before the change over yesterday :groan:

I'll agree with Speedy ITS THE ONLY SITE THAT WONT LOAD !! Certainly not changing DNS just to open it.

1355761 2013-10-11 23:04:00 I'm just pissed that why do people change things when they are working fine -- cant help but fiddle,then most of time things stuff up in one way or another.

I was on there yesterday cleaning out loads of spam. Then out the blue it shut down again.

Same here Wainui. In defence of Clear/Vodafail it is only the one site that is causing problems for me so I’ll forgive them this time. ;)

But I really do think it is time to introduce Public Floggings for those who fix things that aren’t broken. :D
