1354861 2013-10-03 19:13:00 Thanks for the links, FoxyMX, however I'm looking for LED. I find CFL start delays annoying. I'm also lookable for a dimmable light. Here's a link to the company

1354862 2013-10-03 21:23:00 I'm not a fan of downlights either, or decorative light fittings. I like to see when I turn on my lights so I prefer bright bulbs with convential white reflectors. All of mine are 20W CFLs or brighter except my one LED 10W bulb I put in the office as an experiment. I don't know why people are more concerned with the appearance of light fittings than their efficiency in lighting a room myself :p dugimodo (138)

www.energymad.com me know which one you choose and how you find it. I'm looking at putting some LED downlights over the kitchen bench for additional lighting. :)

1354864 2013-10-05 07:54:00 I'm thinking of going with convential hanging lights.

The fire resistant MDF paneling isn't hard to find
* Medite Fireline
* Decortech FireSafe
* Prime Fireline

But I can't find an LED downlights that's
*dimmable
*replaceable (replace the bulb, instead of the whole unit)
*coverable (not isulation abuted)

Maybe order out of the USA?

1354865 2013-10-05 08:15:00 After plowing through many certifation, I'm using this google search to turn up appropriate led downlight

www.google.com/search?q=ic+dimmable+m16+OR+gu10+led+downlight+sit e%3Anz

ic dimmable m16 OR gu10 led downlight site:nz

"IC": can be covered with insulation
"m16 OR gu 10": replaceable lightbulbs
the rest is self-explanatory

Beware anything that can't be covered with isulation: "non-IC", "CA 80" or "CA 135"
