| 284550 | 2004-10-25 20:15:00 | hi, when i want to have a game of cs against bots or other real players, after about 5 - 10 minutes my computer restarts. sometimes cs last for a long time and sometimes it doesnt. im using a XP 2800 onboard graphics windows xp pro. Im on a WAN running from a 56k with proxy server lol. one thing i found is that i installed cs again (1.0 as apposed to cs 1.5) and it doesnt restart when i use the old cs. any idea's ? | Jimmy D (2061) | ||

| 284552 | 2004-10-25 21:10:00 | Games stress the components in a comp more then most any other task so the first issue to look at is heat buildup,You can either use an app to monitor your temps,or rip the side off the case,point a deskfan into and fire up a game..... Second is to look at the psu,It may be failing due to the strain,or even ram or video card.You need to work through them from most likely causes to grasping at straws. It make also be messed up files/reg entries,i have found installing mods and editing files always ends up with a buggered install a few months down the line,It may help to uninstall everything associated with CS and start over. Drivers shouldn,t be an issue as any bugs related to that game and drivers should have been sorted years ago. |
